On April 30, 2010, CalSTRS held a webinar on school furloughs and post-retirement earnings.
The webinar began with a discussion by Deputy CEO Peggy Plett of how school furloughs can affect members’ benefits and the accepted methods for reporting furlough earnings to CalSTRS. Deputy CEO Ed Derman followed with a discussion of the effect of post-retirement employment, earnings limitations and exemptions on retirees’ monthly benefits.
