The Administrative Services branch provides services to Human Resources, Facilities Management and Procurement Management in support of operational, strategic and business planning objectives. The goal is to advance the sustainable operations of our organization, through passionate service, while enhancing the ability to provide the best service possible to our members and beneficiaries.
Audit Services consists of Employer and Internal Audits, providing independent, objective assurance through audit and consulting services designed to add value and improve CalSTRS operations. Audit Services supports CalSTRS by bringing a systematic approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls and governance.
The Benefits and Services branch includes Service Retirement, Disability and Survivor Benefits, Employer Services, Customer Service and Retirement Readiness. The branch directly supports the organization’s mission.
The Enterprise Strategy Management division is responsible for organization-wide strategic management, business planning and organizational performance, research and development and enterprise sustainability in support of our mission.
The Financial Services branch drives the strategic management of internal financial operations and oversees budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to ensure the fiscal health and sustainability of the retirement fund.
The Office of the General Counsel provides advice on legal issues as they affect the overall programs and policies of CalSTRS, manages our legal program and represents the pension fund in litigation, appeals and other matters.
The Investments branch manages the nation’s second largest public pension fund. Areas include Fixed Income, Global Equity, Inflation Sensitive, Investment Services, Investment Strategy and Risk, Private Equity, Real Estate, Risk Mitigating Strategies and Sustainable Investments.
The Public Affairs branch is responsible for the vision, strategy and execution of policies in the areas of stakeholder and constituent group relations, governmental relations, external and internal communications and reputation management. The branch promotes and supports our enterprise strategies and ensures that CalSTRS is understood and well positioned in the pension fund industry and policy community.
The Technology Services branch provides quality and timely support, resources and services to meet the technical needs of the organization.
